Regular Members: $455 for National Dues
Must be licensed to practice allopathic or osteopathic medicine in the United States.
Members have all the privileges of full membership in the Society, including complimentary subscriptions to the Journal of Addiction Medicine (both print and online) and ASAM Magazine (online only). Active members may vote in Society elections, be a voting member of and chair committees, and may hold elected office.
International Members: $300
International Members reside or work outside the U.S. or its territories. Members must maintain valid medical licenses in their country or province.
Members receive the same benefits as Regular Members.
Retired Members: $140 for National Dues
Retired Members have completely retired from the practice of medicine or osteopathy, and are not required to maintain a valid allopathic or osteopathic medical license.
Members receive complimentary subscriptions to the Journal of Addiction Medicine (both print and online) and ASAM Magazine (online only). Members may vote in Society elections but may not hold elected national office. They may be voting members of committees, but may not chair committees.
Early Career Physician Members: $235 for National Dues
Members are in their first two years after completing an accredited residency or fellowship program OR in their first two years of practicing addiction medicine on a full-time basis. Members must be licensed to practice allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
Members receive complimentary online subscriptions to the Journal of Addiction Medicine and ASAM Magazine. Active members may vote in Society elections, be a voting member of and chair committees, and may hold elected office.
Resident Members: $35 for National Dues
Interns, residents, or fellows serving in an approved hospital or fellowship program. Members must have a valid license in localities where required.
Members receive the same benefits as Early Career Physician Members.
Student Members: No ChargeAssociate Member: $250
Student Members must be enrolled and in good standing in formally accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical schools.
Students must submit a certifying letter from their school upon application for membership.
Student Members receive the same benefits as Early Career Physician Members, except they may not hold elected office.
Associate members must have a degree in one of the eligible professions. Associate members shall receive complimentary subscriptions to the electronic newsletter and online Journal, receive discounted rates on products and programs, and have access to the ASAM Career Center. Associate Section Members may vote on the Associate Section Committee and serve as non-voting members on other committees. Associate Section members may not vote in elections or hold elected positions.
Select this option if you are not eligible to join ASAM as a Member, but plan to attend an ASAM conference. This option is only open to non-physicians who are not eligible for ASAM's Associate Member category. You must create an account here, and then register for an event separately. There are no member benefits provided with this option.

**Note** Membership in ASAM runs on a calendar year basis, so all memberships expire on December 31 of the current year. New members joining in September or later each year may pay the full rate for membership and have their membership run through the end of the following year. This would give new members a few months free for the price of 12 months.
